The Greeneville City School system is pleased to announce Mr. Jack Evans as the next principal of Greeneville Middle School. Mr. Evans replaces Ms. Heather Boegemann who will return to the classroom this fall.

Mr. Jack Evans has served as Principal of North Buncombe High School, North Carolina, for the last twelve (12) years. His experience also includes principal of Charles D. Owen Middle School for seven (7) years, assistant principal of North Buncombe High School for one (1) year, assistant principal of Enka Middle School for two (2) years, and served as a mathematics teacher for seven (7) years. Mr. Evans holds Master’s degrees in both Secondary Mathematics Education and School Administration in Leadership and Educational Development from Western Carolina University. Mr. Evans was awarded Buncombe County Principal of the Year award for the 2015-2016 school year.

Mr. Evans is recognized for his educational leadership and his outstanding commitment to students. He is especially supportive of the arts, global education, and increasing the number of students who graduate. Mr. Evans holds the view that all students can learn at their greatest potential given a rigorous level of instruction by highly qualified teachers in a nurturing, safe, and well-organized environment.

“It truly is an honor to be joining the already excellent staff at Greeneville Middle School and to serve the Greeneville City community,” said Mr. Jack Evans. “While GMS has a rich tradition in the arts, athletics, and academic performance, I still see great capacity for growth.”

“I am excited for the students and teachers of GMS,” said Dr. Jeff Moorhouse, Director of Greeneville City Schools.  “Mr. Evans brings a wealth of experience to the position. We are excited to welcome Mr. Evans to the GCS Family!”

Mr. Jack Evans will assume his new role beginning with the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.
