Finding distance on the Coordinate Plane
- What
- Finding distance on the Coordinate Plane
- When
- 1/15/2019
student's put aside their work on "graphitis" or locating points on the Coordinate Plane to work on finding distance between points. Students are responsible for finding the distance between two horizontal or vertical points on a coordinate plane given two ordered pairs.
They will be using their knowledge of the absolute value to satisfy the two conditions of distance. The first condition is if the distance/ line does not cross an axis you subtract their absolute value. Second is if the distance/ line crosses and axis you add their absolute values.
I have attached the daily lesson along with the handout given towards the end of the class.
