Greeneville Middle School was selected as a 2018-19 Microsoft Showcase school for their demonstration of increased student outcomes as a result of their commitment to educational technology in the classroom.
“This is a great honor to be chosen. As well as being recognized on a global scale for our innovative approach to education through technology, Showcase Schools receive additional collaboration opportunities with other schools around the world. That collaboration, insight and learning will not only benefit our educator and student outcomes in the classroom; but our community as well,” says Jack Evans, Principal, GMS.
Showcase Schools are characterized by thoughtful leaders who empower educators and students to re-imagine and re-design leading, teaching and learning in their schools and regions. These leaders also come together as a group to tackle challenges, celebrate successes and share in an online community, available exclusively to Showcase School Leaders. They work closely with Microsoft to learn about global trends in education and test new solutions locally, adjusting to meet the specific needs of their own communities.
Beverly Miller, Assistant Director for Administration of the district, gives high praise stating, “Once again, Greeneville Middle School students and educators have been recognized for their exemplary utilization of instructional technology. I could not be more proud of their work, spirit of innovation, and teamwork!”
