Welcome to Greeneville Middle School, home of the Devils!

I am honored to serve the students, parents, teachers and community of Greeneville Middle School. Growing up on a farm in Burnsville NC, I was blessed with extremely hard-working parents who taught me at an early age that hard work, determination, and a strong faith will provide me with opportunities to live a happy life by serving others. I have tried to practice that philosophy throughout my life. This will be my 31st year in education as a math teacher, assistant principal, and principal, but never have I been happier as an educator than I have been here in Greeneville City Schools and specifically at Greeneville Middle School.

As we head into another academic school year, I am excited to welcome back our returning students from last year and especially our new students making the transition from elementary school to middle school. My hope is that after three years at GMS, your child can answer two short but very important questions. "Who am I?" "What do I stand for?" I feel that students who can individually determine the answers of these two questions in middle school are very well prepared for the challenges of high school, post-secondary education, the work place, and life in general. That is our challenge as middle school educators and parents. Working together, we can help your child realize their potential!

We are very proud of many of our accomplishments here at GMS, but most recently, we earned the recognition as a Microsoft Showcase School. GMS received this recognition for how technology is used to launch, enhance, and reinforce the educational opportunities provided to our students in core and related arts courses. GMS was the only school in Tennessee to receive this honor.

I hope that your child’s middle school experience at GMS is enjoyable and challenging as we prepare them socially, emotionally, physically, and certainly educationally for the future that awaits them.

If I can be of any assistance in your child’s middle school experience, please contact me by phone at (423) 639-7841 or email at
