Cross Country

Summer: No summer GMS Cross Country program.
Student athletes are encouraged to run during the summer, working up to 2 miles.
Tryouts: The first week to week and half of practice serve as a "tryout" for Cross-Country. Cut times for travel and varsity will be set and runners will have to run faster than those cut times to be able to attend away meets. These times are set early in the season, so running and conditioning during the summer are crucial.
Practice / Workouts: August
Season: August to October
A current athletic physical must be on file with the Athletic Director and dated after April 15 before trying out or participating in any school sport.
