Welcome

My name is Margaret Seaton - my friends call me Marty.  I am the 8th Grade Special Education Teacher.  The 2022-23 school year is my 34th year working with special needs students and my 12th year at GMS.  My students are awesome!  I provide inclusion support to students in the 8th grade in core academic classes and with reading skills.  Also, I case manage for 8th grade students requiring Individual Education Plans (IEPs).  I am a Coach for a girls' 8th grade Leader in Me group, and I teach two Intervention Classes with students who need Tier IV assistance in reading and math. 

 

On a personal note, I am a Christian who attends First Baptist Church where I enjoy being an uncertified sign language interpreter for our deaf members.  I have been married for 31 years and have two wonderful grown children and a new son-in-law.  Our fur baby, Bella, is a precious mixed-breed dog that joined our fur-ever family in 2019.  Besides teaching and signing, I enjoy reading, Bible journaling, visiting with friends and family, and walking for exercise.
