I was blessed to grow up in a small town in Western North Carolina named Burnsville. My father and mother were farmers and educators respectively. This instilled in me a very solid work ethic that has served me well throughout my life. After graduating high school, I attended Appalachian State University and majored in Mathematics and minored in Physics with a teaching certification. While teaching mathematics in Buncombe County Schools, I continued my education at Western Carolina University receiving a masters degrees in Secondary Mathematics and Educational Leadership. I retired from North Carolina after working all 29 years in Buncombe County Schools, teaching 7 years, assistant principal 3 1/2 years, and principal at the middle and high school level 18 1/2 years. I began work in Greeneville City Schools as principal at Greeneville Middle School in July 2017 and have enjoyed every moment.
One of my passions is riding motorcycles. This reduces stress and provides time to reflect and relaxation!
