A family of four stands together outdoors on a concrete patio with a scenic, sunlit countryside landscape in the background. An adult woman in a deep green dress stands beside an adult man wearing a tan blazer, blue shirt, and dark pants. In front of them, a young girl in a navy dress and white cardigan stands next to a young boy dressed in a dark blue suit with a boutonniere. Trees with autumn foliage and rolling fields stretch out behind them under a clear sky.

We have some exciting news to celebrate at Greeneville Middle School!

GMS teacher, leader, and coach, Rustin Jones, has been named the recipient of the 2026 TCSS Social Studies School Service Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Excellence in Teaching Award, presented by the Tennessee Council for the Social Studies.

Later this month, Mr. Jones will be traveling to Memphis to be honored at the TCSS State Social Studies Conference, where he will officially receive this award.

If you know Mr. Jones, you know how deserving this recognition is. Whether he’s teaching in the classroom, leading, coaching, or investing in students beyond the school day, he brings energy, heart, and high expectations that make a lasting impact on our school community.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Jones on this outstanding accomplishment! We are proud to have him represent Greeneville Middle School!
